Running Week Recap - Jan 17th

Here it is!!
I must admit I get a little excited to post these for everyone to see.  I ran 18 miles this week - lots less compared to last week - but it's ok.  My race is coming up next week and it's time to slow down a bit.  And to be honest, I did need to take time to get better as I had bad acid reflux issues this week, which includes lots of sleep issues (+ no sleep) and so I went to the doctor. Happy I'm getting back on track.  Not 100% but getting there.

I also decided to sign up for a few more races.  I will keep those quiet for now and will share as those dates get closer.  #EXCITED! #NERVOUS

Running Week Recap - Jan 10th

I want to start sharing my weekly workouts with you.  I think it will help me stay better on track. When the summer months arrive I tend not workout as much because it's too hot.  I think this will help.

I had a great week.  Feeling really good and I ran lots of miles.  I had a long run Sunday and then again Saturday...I don't plan on doing that again anytime soon.  Total miles this week:  37

Highlight of the week:  I ran my last long run before my race with negative splits.  yay!

My half marathon is coming up in 3 weeks and I plan to sign up for another one next month - I will share more details as the time draws closer.  I'm also looking at another race in April...I'm feeling really good so I want to plan all my races.

I need to give the creator of this template credit.  I love her work.  MissTiina's work is amazing.  I use several of her calendars, to do lists and other templates to organize my daily life.  You can find her shop here.

Small Business Spotlight: Stay Organized with P | A | K

I had the opportunity to meet the lovely Marlinda and Nicol at the Junior League's A Christmas Affair in Austin and I absolutely loved this product at first sight.  P | A | K  Wallet, keeps your bag organized and mess-free.

Not many of you know this about me, I often leave home without applying my deodorant.  I have one friend I text each time this happens and she just laughs.  It is really so funny, it happens often.  It's so hot here in Texas and it's hard to keep a travel sized deodorant bar in the glovebox of the car.  When it happens, I just pray not to get over heated enough and start sweating.  Not anymore!!!

P | A | K is a small wallet that fits in all of your bags and includes all the necessary essentials to get you through the day or night.  The wallet comes in three sizes:  The Original, The Mini and The Micro.  I purchased The Original because it includes deodorant wipes!  YES!  So awesome.  You can place inside a purse or bag OR attach the chain that comes with The Original or The Mini and carry it as a small purchase.  The Micro can be carried as a small clutch.

Not only does the wallet include all of these items.  Most items are refillable just visit their site to find out more information.

Most of you know I love green, so I purchased the green wallet, but these also are available in black. The P | A | K Store has offered my readers a coupon.  Use coupon code PAK35 for 35% off and FREE shipping.

Word Of the Year: BALANCE

I love selecting a word for the year.  I try to embrace my word and make it part of my world each day. When things get tough I try to bring myself back to my word of the year.  Last year my word was SHINE. This year I selected another word and it's going to be a little more difficult for me to embrace it.  That word is BALANCE.

Most times I get so caught up in work or caught up in daily life and I start to feel completely out of balance.  This year I will try my best to be a more balanced person.

  1. 1.
an even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady.
"slipping in the mud but keeping their balance"
    synonyms:stabilityequilibrium, steadiness, footing
"I tripped and lost my balance"
  2. 2.
a condition in which different elements are equal or in the correct proportions.
"overseas investments can add balance to an investment portfolio"
synonyms:fairness, justice, impartiality, evenhandedness, egalitarianism, equal opportunityMore
  1. 1.
keep or put (something) in a steady position so that it does not fall.
"a mug that she balanced on her knee"
"she balanced the book on her head"
  2. 2.
offset or compare the value of (one thing) with another.
"the cost of obtaining such information needs to be balanced against its benefits"
    synonyms:weigh, weigh up, compareevaluateconsiderassessappraise,judge
"you need to balance cost against benefit"

These are the things I would like to work on this year:
Before I act, I will try to listen.
Before I react, I will try to think.
Before I criticize, I will try to wait.
Before I quit, I will try.
I will try to forgive more.
I will celebrate myself more.
Give myself more quiet time.

I will keep a monthly journal and will share my journey with you.  I hope you come back and visit.
