1 year, 500 miles! whooohooo!

It's been one year and after this morning's run I've run, jogged and walked 501.41 miles. I remember putting peas on my knees because they hurt so bad and my small injury which made me stop running for 8 weeks and purchasing my first pair of real running shoes and running my first 10 miles and then my first half marathon. It's been crazy but so worth it. I have so many more miles to run and I'm looking forward to them all. Thank you to my running partner!  Without her I don't think I could have done this.  I know 500 miles isn't a lot to most of you, but I'm so super happy!

Friday Letter - Aug 22nd

Hellooooooo Friday!  I'm so happy to see you.  I hoping for a relaxing weekend.

Dear Hubby - you are the best, thanks for everything!

Dear K:  1st year of high school starts next week!  I'm excited and a little sad, you are growing up so fast.  These four years will fly by so fast.

Dear A:  WOW!  College classes start Monday!  Tears of joy and excitement for you.

Dear running shoes:  We have a couple of dates this weekend. I've finally gotten my workout schedule planned and on the calendar.  Half marathon training...here we go again.

Dear Gym:  I really don't like you, but if coming to visit with you will make me any faster, I will do it.

Dear Fall Craft Show Season:  You are fast approaching.  I've filled out so many applications and I'm not sure why, but every year I get so nervous I will be denied from my favorite shows...my fingers (and toes) are crossed!  (I need to do a blog post on show rejection letters).

Have a great weekend everyone!

Lays "Do Us a Flavor" Challenge

My family and I took the Lays Challenge "Do Us a Flavor" and tasted all their new chips.  The flavors included Cappuccino #SaveCappuccino, Wasabi Ginger #SaveWasabi, Bacon Mac & Cheese #SaveBaconMac and Mango Salsa #SaveMango.  Wow!  Crazy huh?

Cappuccino:  This really smells and tastes just like coffee.  But in my option really doesn't belong on a chip - I would rather have my cappuccino, warn, in a coffee mug.

Wasabi Ginger:  I love Wasabi and Ginger and the combo wasn't bad…but I think the chips could have been just a tad more spicy.

Bacon Mac & Cheese:  This one wasn't bad either.  Of course you taste the cheese and then the smokiness from the bacon hits.   I just really have a hard time with fake bacon.

Mango Salsa:  My daughter loved this chip, but it's the only one I spit out (sorry).  I did not like this one at all.

I made scoring cards for our family so everyone gave each flavor a score from 1-5 (5 best) on flavor - we ranked them in this order

#4:  Cappuccino - no one liked this one
#3:  Mango Salsa -  only my daughter liked this one
#2:  Wasabi Ginger - it was decent
#1:  Bacon Mac & Cheese
this was best out of the group, but I'm not sure how often it will be in our shopping cart

Kids Summer Craft Camp DIY: Jumbo Bookmarks

Yay!  Another Kids Summer Craft Blog Hop!
Today I wanted to share by bookmarks - these are sooooooo super easy to make and I wanted to share with you how I make them.
Here is a short list of what you will need:
Paper punch (we used 1.5 inches round)
     Scrap paper
     Foam Brush
Bookmark Blanks (I have these available on my website - you can purchase here)

Step 1:  Punch out your circles - you will need two.
Step 2:  Apply Modpodge to one side of your bookmark blank
Step 3:  Adhere your paper circles to the bookmark blank
Step 4:  Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the other side
And you’re done!
If you would rather make your own bookmark blanks, all you will need are 2 circle disks and paper clips.  Take the first disk, add strong glue, add a paper clip and lay the second disk on top - let these dry for 24 hours.

You can embellish these more with glitter paper, rhinestones, buttons, the ideas are endless.
For the bookmarks below, we found great alphabet printables on Etsy!  How fun!  Have great time making these and let me know if you have any questions.

Check out the rest of the Campers for this Summer Craft Camp!
