Etsy Austin CRAFT RIOT this weekend...

Just in time for the holidays, EtsyAustin CRAFT RIOT brings you A Handmade Revolution in Shopping! This 2-day family-friendly event is the perfect place to find locally handmade and unique holiday gifts. Indulge in fabulous shopping from over 40 local artisans while enjoying your favorite cocktails and other refreshments. Get creative in our fun wintery photobooth filled with props. Admission is free and the first 25 guests will receive EtsyAustin Craft Riot gift bags filled with goodies each day.

The EtsyAustin Street Team is a collaboration of over 100 local artists, crafters and entrepreneurs who sell their goods on Etsy.com. Now more than ever, people all over the world are embracing the trend of buying handmade, vintage and recycled products. Sustainability is becoming ideal in the current economic and environmental crises facing us today. When you buy handmade, you're getting something made by a real person, not a machine. A purchase from a small-scale independent craftsperson cuts out the pollution and useless waste that is created by mass production. Additionally, buying from local crafters supports our local economy and helps "Keep Austin Weird!"

Start out at the Welcome Center, which opens at 9:30 on Saturday and 11:30 on Sunday. The address is 4304 Quinlan Park Road. The map and list of homes can be picked up there all weekend. Models are spread out throughout the community, so do not skip this step!

The shopping event will happen all weekend at the model homes. Bring a friend and start that holiday shopping early! The models open at 10 on Saturday and Noon on Sunday.

Photos in the pumpkin patch are at the Welcome Center from Noon to 4pm both days. There is also another pumpkin patch photo event at the John Simpson Community Center on Sunday. These are separate events, but both will benefit charities. Why not try both?!

Savoir Beds will be set up at the Drees model in Hawks Canyon. This is really something you have to try for yourself to understand. It brings sleeping to a whole new level!!!

I really want to thank everyone for coming out to The Lone Star Ladies Shop Austin Event yesterday. I was able to meet so many new people, and saw so many friends, I really had a great time! And now I can start working on my fall craft show schedule.

I did have a drawing at my table yesterday and one lucky customer has won a $20 gift certificate to Tisa's Creations....the winner is:
Ashley Terry - congrats!

Candace Henderson - congrats!

Something new from the Cutting Cafe. I'm always drawn to more 'girlie' stamp sets and most of the time those are the ones that I tend to create with...but I wanted to challenge myself and I think this card turned out really great...no glitter, no rhinestones, just a little ribbon, but no bows are knots! YIKES, is this really a design by Tisa? Yep it is...head on over to the Cutting Cafe to pick up this set for yourself. Enjoy!

Here are the details:

It's a cupcake kind of day...

What a great day here in Austin...the weather is great - high 60's, a little windy but anything is much better than rain. I really couldn't wear flip flops today but I will tomorrow!!! YEAH!

Today is a perfect day to make homeade cupcakes. I didn't have time to bake but I did the next best thing - I made a card! It turned out really yummy!

I love the Cutting Cafe's cupcake shaped card set...
I also used Stampin' Up's Certainly Celery, Regal Rose and Chocolate Chip cardstocks, the patterned paper is Everyday from American Crafts. I also used really cute pink grosgrain ribbon, a clear square button, glitter, and my xyron machine. Enjoy this cupcake...without the calories!!!

I'm extremely excited to introduce...

...The Cutting Cafe'. I'm now apart of the oh, so talented design team. YIIIPPPPPEEEEEEE!!! When I first received the confirmation email, my first thought was...WOW! My second thought was...COOL! Third was...AWESOME, then I screammed. (smile)

The Cutting Cafe' offers digital stamps, no need to wait for your mail carrier to deliver your new stamps - after your purchae from the cafe', they are in your inbox within 24 hours.

Head on over to check it out...Mz. Regina and some of her awesome friends have great give a ways going on...and to celebrate, I wanted created this really quick card using one of the Cutting Cafe's newest stamp sets - Beautiful Blooms....enjoy!

another great birthday card...

Another great card...HAPPY BIRTHDAY...Wow, I'm going through my cards and man I use some of the same colors all the time!!! I need to go a little outside my comfort zone and start using other colors - I ordered new scrapbook papers today, I should get it in a couple of days. So my goal is to start showing you more colors...

Speaking of colors - my most favorite colors in the world are:
1. Green - most shades of green
2. Brown - I love to create with brown
3. Pink...it's trendy, I guess brown is too...
4. Black, I wear black almost every single day...yep it's sad, but it's easy!
5. Red, who doesn't love a huge red handbag...this was my favorite color though out my elementary days...and if you put something in front of me to purchase, I will go to red always...
I guess I just love color....what is your favorite color???

Happy Birthday

I have never made a card using ribbon in this way. I think it turned out really cute. This would also work well as a Thanksgiving card in fall colors or Christmas card in trendy holiday colors. Here are the details...

Stamp: SU! Birthday (retired)
Paper: SU! Pretty in Pink and White
Patterned Paper: Heidi Grace Reagan's Closet
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip Craft
Accessories: Pink grosgrain ribbon, Heidi Grace Rhinestone Stickers
