i love etsy and my new bag...

...I love to purchase anything I can from etsy! It's handmade and it's supporting crafters from all over.

So you all know that my birthday was a few weeks ago. I put in a custom alchemy request on esty for a bag for my birthday...this is what was created...just for me!!!

I'm so excited, can't wait to get it. So Kelly from Simply Sage made this for me. It's so cute. It's called a transition bag. This girl is good...she sent me samples of the fabrics and wanted to make sure I knew exactly what I was getting.

It took about 2-3 weeks, but I think it's worth the wait. I can't wait to take water bottles, books...and hooooooo I can put my laptop in it when me and kids head to the library or pool or whatever! Man, I'm excited!

Ok, so if any of you need a custom bag I recommend Kelly. Her etsy shop is: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5861704 check her out!

meet my new friend...alorinna...

she is a very creative and talented person, check out these earrings. You can see more of her stuff here: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=2108

these are so cute...

What a surprise...my super sweet boss and his family brought these back from Disney for me. They could not have been more perfect in describing my personality....classic with a little sass!

On to another subject...Christmas in July...I really never knew what that meant - are we suppose to start our holiday shopping? All the stores have holiday decorations already out...I don't know. Well with seeing all of this about Christmas in July, I started to create holiday cards. Hey! I'm so excited...the last week in Aug you will start to see them on my etsy sight! Stay tuned! Until next time!

Why did people go back to New Orleans....got my answer

After the storm...the only thing New Orleans didn't lose was it's spirit!

when was the last time you seen these gas prices...

...I took this picture yesterday in New Orleans.  One of the gas stations that maybe closed right before the hurricane.  Not sure.

The visit was great, took the kids to the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas (it has recently re-opened) it was great!

As a parent I could not imagine what the people of New Orleans went through (are still going thur) during and after the storm.   I saw so many houses abandoned, FEMA trailers in the drive ways of families who are rebuilding.  But here is the question...why go back?  I love where I live here in Texas, I think it's the best place to live in the US.  But if something terrible happened similar to what happened in New Orleans - I don't think I would be willing to return.  Do you think people stayed because of family?  Because they love it just as much as I love it here?  I don't know...the good thing is...lots of stores and resturants are now re-opening.  Most of the places we went to visit had grand opening signs.  Just a thought...
